Bio for Dr. Michael L. Lewis

Michael grew up in Iowa and met his wife Carmen at York College.  He holds degrees from York, Abilene Christian, University of Nebraska and the University of Oklahoma.  Dr. Lewis directed a research center and taught at the University of South Florida after completing his doctorate. However he was soon invited to join the faculty at Abilene Christian where he held a joint appointment as Professor of Bible and Communication, spending many years teaching preaching. He preached for large congregations in Houston and North Dallas before he was able to pursue a lifelong dream of ministering in the mountains.

Today, he is the Senior Minister at the Dalton Gardens Church of Christ in mountain resort community of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Carmen is a Special Education Teacher in Kellogg, Idaho.  They have been blessed with three children and two grandchildren. He is the author of four textbooks.  Michael has also has an unusual radio ministry, heard daily on the local “Hip-Hop” station serving the greater Spokane/Coeur d’ Alene area.
